Di Selangor menjayakan sesuatu inisiatif yang kita berikan tumpuan dan menunjukkan kekayaan yang agak cemerlang dan cepat. Saya ingat bertemu dia awal tahun lalu begitu. Kemudian bulan Ogos putus masuk. Bulan Oktober bermula dan hari ini sudah lihat hasilnya termasuk catatan keuntungannya dan saya ucap terima kasih kepada Maistorage.

 

Dan yang lebih menarik ini, mengapa saya pilih untuk hadir memberikan sokongan? Kerana ini meletakkan kita dalam satu usaha yang agak baru yang kita sebut dalam konteks MADANI ini iaitu daya cipta. Dan dalam pastikan tahap kemajuan yang lebih pesat. Ada beberapa bidang yang harus kita terokai yang agak sukar. Dan kita bernasib baik kerana anak kita tempatan yang sudah menjelajah ke seantero dunia dan meletakkan industri yang berjaya di dunia Phison.

 

Bersetuju untuk kembali dan meletakkan asas di sini dan sebab itu saya hargai rakan-rakan, masing-masing kementerian. MITI, TalentCorp dan tentunya Selangor yang memberikan dukungan yang cepat.

 

Sebab itu dalam bila kita bicara tentang pelaburan itu ekosistem itu harus bergerak bersama dan kepantasannya itu perlu dan ini juga peranan KSN yang tekankan supaya penjawat awam turut serta melihat ini sebagai suatu fokus yang harus diberikan oleh Negara.

 

Saya dengar yang Dato’ Pua Khein Seng, penjelasan kes yang lebih menarik kerana tentunya semua perbincangan belum sampai ke tahap ya kategori ke depan atau final end. Walaupun sekarang sudah mula packaging tu sudah advanced packaging advance design ya. Jadi ada suatu tahap kemajuan tetapi ini Maistorage merupakan suatu langkah. Memang kita terokai yang agak awal dan memberikan kita satu lonjakan yang sangat istimewa dalam lapangan artificial intelligence.

 

Jadi ini kebanggaan kita. Dan saya ucap sekali lagi penghargaan kerana ini kadang orang industri ini dia bergerak dengan satu kelajuan luar biasa seperti mana dia dengar speech Dato’ Pua Khein Seng bagaikan sebuah how fast the speed is this how it works.

 

I told him that I’m quite impressed because when I first met him, well, because he mentioned, I said, of course we know the company, but we have to of course and sure that he is really focus and show interest here. And we give an undertaking and who was MITI and his various agencies, TelentCorp and Selangor and the state agencies, they give that initial support and convince him to then embark on this journey.

 

And as as we are, we have seen today, I’m personally excited. That’s why I’ve decided to personally come here to show that this sort of venture is very meaningful and critical for our country. And this relate to what we will be addressing this week weekend when we meet ASEAN leaders, then together the GCC and also China. And the trust of our ASEAN chairmanship has been of course energy transition and we have been quite successful with Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore on this power grid.

 

But the focus of the thrust of our championship has been digital transformation. So surely with this announcement today in the launch, we can at least showcase it’s not just mere platitudes and pronouncements, but something that we can be rather excited about that our neighboring countries can share and and support this venture as we will continue also to support the development of digitalization and AI in our neighboring countries because we want ASEAN, I mean, other than Malaysia, of course, but ASEAN to also be a more competitive digital hub right now.

 

Right now, Malaysia has gained that reputation, I mean, through of course, political stability, clarity in our policies. I thank Tengku Zafrul, for example, because when we launch this digital transformation through the New Industrial Masterplan or Road Map and then Dato’ Pua Khein Seng can just look at some of our policies. It is clear. It shows our clear determination and set our priorities.

 

And due to that, the challenge therefore is effective execution and it’s always a major challenge in most countries. So, do we. That is why when I started the journey together with my team, our focus, firstly, the governance. Until and unless we are able to ensure that we discipline this and execute it efficiently and transparently, avoid the pitfalls of corruption, bribery, we can showcase Malaysia as a great heaven for AI, not only as data centers, but also to give meaning for the high end of these products.

 

So, of course, I share your excitement and what’s exciting, which he didn’t tell me before that it’s a quite a departure from some of these ventures. Unlike my colleague Tengku Zafrul, I’m not too keen to capitalist ventures. But it is done in a situation of course we have to have profitability. You know, any business enterprise must register impressive profits. But there is that human dimension, compassion and care with very much encapsulated in the MADANI Framework. That is why I’m very pleased to hear Dato’ Pua Khein Seng when he mentioned that it’s time that you reward the engineers, the staff and offer them an opportunity to participate in this venture as that will become part and parcel of their own company in their own venture.

 

I of course, terribly excited with this because you can again showcase not only a normal technological adventure, which may be successful or hopefully as we have started this journey and put Malaysia on the map, the world map. But there is a shift clearly from the normal focus of what business and the capitalist venture is all about. That is to show care to ensure that the engineers, the professionals have a stake in the industry and they will hopefully ensure, drive them to work harder and participate. After all, they have a stake in the company.

 

So, again, we have to highlight this too, so that other ventures, I’ve seen so many of them, as you know, I’m from Penang, but not all. But at least sometimes they reward the officers, the professionals fairly. But it’s rarely do you find this sort of commitment to ensure that the professionals, workers, the technologies or part and parcel industry are given that opportunity.

 

True. Let us then support and pray Insha-Allah that this major drive and adventure will prove to be very successful and Malaysians, not only the government and people at large will of course follow this closely. And I think I don’t need to alert my colleagues and professionals because you have seen how committed they are. I’m proud of them.

 

Because of course there is the success of Dato’ Pua Khein Seng and his team, but we have also recognized the commitment and participation of the professionals, the bureaucrats, who work indefatigably to ensure that Malaysia gain this place beyond our major pronouncements about policies on digital transformation.

 

I can again ensure you Dato’ Pua Khein Seng, they will give all the support required, because we have numerous investments in data centres and AI in this country. But we certainly give MaiStorage a special place because of what you intend to do and your drive and peace.

 

I’m not sure of any company could set up that fast and then would drive that fast and register profit that fast. If I’m not Prime Minister, I’ve certainly joined him in the team, not as engineer, probably a PR guy. So, thank you again.
